A true farmstead cheese, made on a family-owned farm and creamery in the lush green Appalachian mountains of Virginia. Appalachian is a versatile cheese and crowd pleaser. The texture is smooth and firm with a grassy, buttery flavor, and notes of wild onion.

It’s a perfect “table cheese”: equally good for cheese and crackers with kids, pairing with fine wine, or melting onto a perfect cheesy meal. Each wheel is slightly different, the result of true artisanal production. Watch out - this cheese might be your new favorite. It certainly is one of ours.

Cheesemonger's Note: This cheese has a natural white mold rind. Packaging: After extensive testing we recently changed our cheese wrapping method. You'll see some loose air inside the vacuum-seal: this is intentional and what the cheese likes best. We hope you'll notice improved flavor and shelf life on this delicate cheese.
