$7.98
Bergenost a triple-cream, Norwegian-style cheese encased in a green wax, reminiscent of a Havarti or American Munster: semi soft and mild. It has a smooth flavor with a subtle tang. Yancey's Fancy uses cultures imported from Norway to achieve authentic Scandinavian flavors. This cheese received the Gold Medal in the 1999 New York State Fair Cheese Contest and an Award of Excellence in the 2009 New York State Fair. The name Bergenost comes from the second largest city in Norway (Bergen) and Ost, the Norwegian word for cheese.
