Van Kaas Goat Gouda Cheese
Van Kaas Goat Gouda is a perfect blend of a rich, nutty gouda with the brightness of goat's milk. It's a great introduction to aged goat cheese since it's not overly assertive and has a lovely texture.
Goat cheese isn't always fresh, soft, and spreadable. In fact, goat's milk can be made into many styles of cheese, including gouda. Goat gouda is a delight for those who've never had it.
This cheese has no 'funkiness' or gamey flavor that some cheese eaters might expect. Instead it's mellow, smooth, and the perfect balance of sweet and salty. It even has notes of caramel and butterscotch. The texture is firm and sliceable. It's lightly aged, with a minimum of 5 weeks, so it doesn't develop the crunchy crystals of a long-aged gouda.
Perfect in salads or tossed with vegetables as well as melted on toast. It's an excellent addition to a cheese platter, or a casual snack plate with potato chips and fruit.
